Stephan Moss, TKS KOW Week #4, Clairemont HS

This weeks TKS Kicker of the week goes to Stephan Moss, Clairemont HS San Diego, CA. Stephan kicked a 34 yard game winning field goal to beat San Marcos HS. Stephan’s kick came late in the 4th quarter to seel it for Cairemont.  Stephan can be seen kicking in the following video Clairemont vs. San Marcos  

Honorable Mention: Lee Abelkop, kicked a 46-yard FG, an extra point and a few touchbacks. Lee’s kick is the second longest kick of season behind Bobby Wenzigs’ 47-yard FG a few weeks back. Lee had been kicking the majority of his kickoffs into the back of the endzone. Here is a video link for the field goal. St. Augustine vs. La Jolla

  • Ethan Swerdlow, La Jolla HS, won the punting in this weeks Sunday Kicking Academy Class with a 48-yard punt. Tyler Strickland from Granite Hills HS, won the field goal competition with a 51-yard FG.

TKS teamed up with stretching guru, Nathan Briner, over this past summer on a Yoga retreat in Mexico. While in Mexico, Nathan developed a key stretch and release routine for kickers and punters for football.  In this video you can find valuable techniques to help release your hips and increase your kicking power.

Another big week for TKS Kickers.  Here is your update for week of September 22nd, 2008.

This weeks, TKS Kicker of the Week, is Brian Huynh, from Rancho Bernardo HS. Brian a junior kicked a 42-yard field goal for RB to beat Torrey Pines HS on the last play of the game. Week #2 TKS Kicker of the Week / Jonathan Williams

Jonathan Williams of Weber State, formerly of Pt. Loma HS, is this weeks TKS Kicker of the Week. 

He  contributed a 37-yard field goal and five extra points in Weber State’s 44-7 victory over in-state opponent Dixie State Saturday night.  With the kicks, Jon maintained a flawless placekicking record so far for the 2008 season, logging 4/4 FG and 15/15 PAT after three games.  His 27-point total elevates Wiliams back into sole possession of the NCAA Football Championship Division (formerly I-AA) kick-scoring title.

Jon worked with TKS this summer to prepare for the season.

Seawright earns nomination for PAC-10 ST Player of the Week

Berkeley, CA — David Seawright, CAL, earned a nomination for PAC-10 Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Washington State. He kicked a 37-yard field goal and was 9-9 on extra points. David is a true freshman from Rancho Bernardo High School.

Week #1 TKS Honors, Bobby Wenzig- Westview HS

The season has started for everyone and this will begin the TKS Kicker of the Week Honors. We hope you started out on the right foot!

For the first week Bobby Wenzig, Westview HS, class of 2009, wins first week honors.  Bobby kicked a 47-yard field goal with 6 minutes left.  Bobby also connected on a 30-yard field goal earlier in the game.  He had a 43.6 yard punting average and 6 out of 6 on touchbacks.  This great performance was as noted in the following article in the NC Times in San Diego. David Seawright starts at CAL

September 1st 2008,

TKS Alum, David Seawright, from Rancho Bernardo HS, started to the CAL Bears this past weekend. David scored 8 points, including his first field goal from 27 yards.  David also kicked off in the second half and looked comfortable in his first collegiate game as a true freshman.

 

“David has come a long way, I remember this first year (his sophmore year) we started working together, he has put the work in and now is producing at the Pac-10 level,” TKS owner John Matich.

David will be playing Washington State this weekend at 3:30pm! Go Bears!
